With Spring Training nearing an end, Atlanta Braves Opening Day is just around the corner. Here are five reasons to attend 2015 Braves Opening Day.
Opening Day is Practically a Holiday
Opening Day for baseball is practically a holiday. It’s definitely one of the most exciting events of the year, as people of all ages come out to support their team. This year, the Atlanta Braves will take the field for Opening Day on April 10th. Luckily for fans, it’s on a Friday night, so many people won’t have to play hooky from work to watch the Braves first home game of 2015.
Turner Field Won’t Be Around Much Longer
In 2017, the Atlanta Braves will move to their new stadium, Suntrust Park. As a result, there will only be two more Opening Days at Turner Field. While everyone is looking forward to the new stadium, with great features such as the new Delta Sky360 Club, Turner Field will be missed. 2015 and 2016 will be the last two years Major League Baseball will be played at The Ted. If you are feeling nostalgic, be sure to grab a seat at Opening Day this year!
Catch New Braves Players
The Atlanta Braves had a very busy off-season. While making endless trades and pick ups, there have been many new and exciting players acquired. Keep an eye on these new Atlanta Braves:
- Jace Peterson- Second Base
- Jonny Gomes- Outfield
- Eric Young Jr.- Outfield
- Eric Stults- Pitcher
- Wandy Rodriguez- Pitcher
That is, if these players can make it through spring training and make the roster for Opening Day! The final two spots for the Braves starting positions and second base job are still up for grabs. It will definitely be exciting to see how all the new additions perform on the team.
Fun For The Entire Family
The Braves have several special events planned for the home opener. In addition to these awesome events, the Braves stadium is fun for the entire family. Kids can head up to the Coca-Cola Sky Field. This area includes picnic tables, a base path, and a 38-foot tall Coca-Cola bottle. Adults may prefer the exclusive 755 Club that features a full bar, televisions, gourmet food, and air-conditioning.
Special Events for Braves Opening Day
Opening Day may be special enough in itself, but the Atlanta Braves have a few things planned to make it even more exciting. The first 45,000 fans through the gates will receive a free magnetic schedule. For pre-game entertainment, Jonathan Jackson (best known from the hit TV series, Nashville) and his band Enation will perform. Also, since Opening Day is on a Friday, the crowd will be treated to Friday Night Fireworks after the game!
