For those who avidly follow and enjoy “E!” network’s popular television show The Soup, now is your chance to see the “host with the most” Joel McHale, as he performs live tomorrow night at the Tabernacle.
Joel McHale Performs At The Tabernacle
Known for his witty and sarcastic take on celebrity drama and pop culture, McHale has gone from an unknown comedian struggling in Seattle to a bona fide figure in Hollywood whose resume includes appearances in:
- Spider-Man 2
- Lords of Dogtown
- Spy Kids
- The Big Year
- Ted
- Blended
- Adult Beginners
- Iron Chef America
- Sons of Anarchy
- X-Files
- Community.
With a background in sketch-comedy and experience working throughout the underground improv scene, McHale’s sense of humor is deeply rooted in his ability to shock and surprise his audience without having to resort to vulgar or graphic material.
His experience speaking off the cuff and responding to a variety of unexpected situations during his routine keeps his performances light, fun, and exciting, as his audiences are constantly put in a position that feels more like a random hangout session, rather than a staged performance.
It is because of these qualities that McHale was selected to host the popular and long-time running program The Soup on the “E!” television network in 2004.
Since then, the show has rebounded in relevance and attached itself to a new generation of viewers with McHale leading his followers through a long-list of jokes that focus on the ridiculous behaviors and oddities that take place in pop culture and in television.
He was offered the lead role in NBC’s Community that lasted five seasons and was the featured entertainer at the 2014 White House Correspondents annual dinner.

Have enjoyed watching Joel for many years on The Soup, and his show was hilarious!
Favorite Moment: When he told us about his son choosing to be a light plate switch for Halloween!

I knew he was funny from when I used to watch the Soup but I didn’t know if that would hold up on stage. Well I was not disappointed. Joel McHale was one of the funniest comics I’ve ever seen. I would go see him again if I have the opportunity. His opening act was really funny too. Just a great night.
Favorite Moment: The entire show.

I expected Joe to be good, but he more than exceeded my wife & my expectations. The performance was original, well paced with some moments when my laughter interfered with my need to breathe. I feel a little guilty (I’m over it) that I got a small discount on the tickets. If he comes your way make sure to check him out.
Favorite Moment: The humor he pulled out of his family’s behavior. It felt real & really amusing
