We had an amazing time at what was definitely an amazing show! This is by far the best performance I have seen in a long time, perhaps even years. The Family band was a bit smaller than usual, but Willie put on an excellent performance with his ability to still command a guitar.
The vocals sounded pretty good considering Nelson’s age and what not, he was a bit raspy but it actually added to the age of his songs. They played a number of covers, a TON of classics, and introduced a few new songs that Willie wrote in the past few days (totally awesome!!!).
If you have never seen Willie perform, you definitely need to. It is an experience that will leave you feeling completely relaxed and in touch with the rest of the crowd! I highly recommend Willie and if you aren’t sure what songs he has released over the past few decades, it won’t matter because seeing Willie is an experience that goes beyond just listening to music live.

I am a longtime fan of Willie Nelson and every time I see him and The Family, I am amazed at the amount of talent, passion, and longevity these guys have. Nelson’s voice is definitely different than what it used to be, but considering his age and the time of “habits” he partakes in, it’s to be expected.
However, the quality of the performance was not dampened because of this since the music sounded excellent and the sound quality of the arena was perfect for an acoustic show.
The show was originally meant to include Merle Haggard, but that obviously was not the case, which was pretty sad for those who have followed Nelson for some time. However, we all had him on our mind when Willie played this song, even giving him a public shout out from the stage.
I highly recommend checking out The Family if you have never seen a show. Willie’s voice is still very powerful and his ability to engage with the audience is pretty spectacular. He is a pioneer for sure and I will definitely see him again in the near future.

This show was jammed pack with hit songs from beginning to end! What was surprising for me though was the pace and tempos of the show since Willie didn’t take that many breaks or pause in between songs.
There was a lot of dialogue toward the end of the show, with Willie commenting on the state of the country and the type of political leaders we have vs. what we need.
In regard to the show itself, there was a lot of covers played, along with a number of new singles Willie is currently recording.

It was a wonderful experience to see and hear Willie Nelson live after all these years. I’ve been listening to him since I was a baby. My Dad played his songs all of my life on the records and as I grew older we both played them together on guitar. I lost my Dad a few years ago and listening to Willie was like bringing my Dad back to life just for a few hours. We LOVED the show!
