Atlanta United FC has not played a home game in over a month. July 31st marked the last home game, which was played at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Luckily, the wait was worth it. In four days time, Atlanta’s football club heads home to their brand new field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For a team that has sold out every single home game so far, this is sure to be a fun and rowdy match.
Atlanta United’s First Game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Atlanta United FC vs. FC Dallas, Sunday, September 10 at 3:30 PM
Head down to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to witness history in the making! Atlanta United FC will take the field this Sunday afternoon for a match against FC Dallas. A crowd of over 70,000 is expected for this game. Atlanta United will be striving for a win in their first game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, Dallas has been winless for five straight games, and will be itching for a victory.
Atlanta United Countdown to Kickoff
For those who like to tailgate and arrive early to the game, check out these important checkpoints pertaining to the game:
- Parking Lots open 4 hours prior to kickoff. Want to tailgate? Make sure your parking lot allows it!
- Gates to Mercedes-Benz Stadium open 2.5 hours before kickoff.
- The team arrives 90 minutes before kickoff. Fans can participate in a team welcome at Gate 2, also known as the “Front Porch.”
- The Support March begins 75 minutes before kickoff. Participate in this fun parade to get pumped up for the game!
- The team will start warming up on field 45 minutes before the game starts.
- The infamous Golden Spike arrives 20 minutes before kickoff.
- Then… the game begins!
During the Atlanta United Game
- Halftime occurs 45 minutes into the game. Fans can use this time to check out the new stadium. There are plenty of fun food and drink options to take advantage of.
- Alcohol sales end after 75 minutes of play time. Be sure to get those drinks beforehand!
- The match will end after 90 minutes, plus stoppage time.
- Immediately after, enjoy the Golden Spike Ceremony!
