Important Facts About Opening Day
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is Now Cashless
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the first NFL/MLS venue in the U.S. to go completely cashless! This will allow for a more efficient, quicker transaction for fans. MBS says this will allow employees to focus more on the fan experience. There will be reverse-ATMs on site for attendees who only carry cash.
Purchasing Parking Ahead of Time is a Must!
Many of the lots around Mercedes-Benz Stadium sell out quickly. Sometimes on matchday, it’s virtually impossible to find a spot. The best practice is to pre-purchase a parking pass. Be sure to look up directions and road closures to your selected parking lot. For those looking to tailgate, check out Lot A, also known as The Gulch, or The Home Depot Backyard !
MARTA is a Great Way to Travel!
For those who don’t want to deal with parking, take MARTA! The closest station is the GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station, which drops off right near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Additionally, ride-share apps like Lyft and Uber do drop off at the stadium. The primary and largest pickup/drop-off zone located inside the Blue Lot on Northside Drive.
Clear Bag Policy is in Effect!
Be sure to check the size of your bag. The Clear Bag Policy states:
“Fans will be able to carry the following bags:
-Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.
-Non-Clear bags no larger than 4.5 x 6.5.
-Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.”
For those who need to check their bag: Bag Valets are available for a fee at Gates 1 and 2.
Tickets are Mobile Entry Only
Unless you are a season ticket holder with a Match Card, your tickets will be mobile. Be sure to accept your tickets into your Atlanta United or Ticketmaster account prior to attempting to enter the stadium. Tickets must be shown from a mobile device to enter the stadium. Be sure to head to the stadium with a fully charged device, just to be safe!
