Last night, the Atlanta Braves dropped a bombshell of news on fans. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred made the announcement: Atlanta is set to host the MLB All-Star Game in 2021!
Hosting this high profile event is an incredible honor. The MLB All-Star Game will bring a week-long schedule of baseball-themed activities to Atlanta. Fans and players from all over the country will witness the greatness of our home baseball venue, Truist Park.
Atlanta to host 2021 MLB All-Star Game
None other than the MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced the decision. Several other important figures were present, such as Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance. Additionally, at least 10 Braves greats of the past were present, including Chipper Jones, Hank Aaron, Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz. A “Braves Walk” parade commenced, and thousands of Braves fans witnessed the announcement.
This will be the third time Atlanta has hosted the Midsummer Classic. The first was at Atlanta Stadium in 1972, and the second was at Turner Field in 2000. The MLB Commissioner credited the 2021 decision to Ttuist Park being “the best in baseball” and the Atlanta Braves as a well-managed organization. The City of Atlanta recently hosted the MLS Cup and the Super Bowl, which were well received by fans and organizations.
MLB All-Star Game: What to Expect
- All-Star Celebrity Softball Game- In years past, celebrities have participated in this fun game a few days before the main event.
- All-Star Futures Game- The Futures game features top Minor-League prospects a few days before the All-Star Game.
- Home Run Derby- Top hitters from the MLB will show off their home run hitting skills.
- Fan Fests- Several events are dedicated to the fans of baseball, with special opportunities, meet and greets, experiences and more!
- Live Entertainment- The MLB All-Star week is always accompanied by awesome concerts and live entertainment. Centennial Olympic Park will likely host many events.
- MLB All-Star Game- The main attraction, of course, is the All-Star game itself! Top MLB players from the American League and National League will play at Truist Park.

Tips for the City of Atlanta
- Traffic will be more congested than usual during the All-Star week.
- Parking will be scarce across Atlanta during these events. Be sure to purchase parking passes ahead of time, or take MARTA, which is always a great way to travel in the city of Atlanta.
- Individual tickets may be required for certain events associated with the game.
