The Atlanta Hawks Have Just One Championship
In 1955 Hawks won their one and only championship. Back then, the team wasn’t even the Atlanta Hawks, they were based out of St. Louis. The Hawks did not move to Atlanta, Georgia until 1968. This season’s team looks like it could definitely make it to the championship game, if not win the whole thing! The 2014-15 Hawks are on top of the league, and have already clinched a playoff spot.
The Atlanta Hawks have almost a 50/50 split in franchise wins and losses
The Hawks currently have 2,591 wins and 2612 losses over the entire franchise. With all the success the Hawks are having, hopefully they can turn things around and accumulate more wins than losses!
Kyle Korver holds an NBA record
Kyle Korver holds the record for the most consecutive games with a 3-pointer made in NBA history with 127! The streak started with the Hawks on November 4th, 2012 and ended on March 5th 2014.

The Hawks were highly represented in the 2015 All-Star game, four of their five starters were selected to play in the game: Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague, and Kyle Korver were all selected to play in the All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden in February. This was only the eighth time in NBA history that four players were selected from the same team.
Atlanta’s Longest Sports Winning Streak
Atlanta has had an amazing season so far! The team kept up a 19-game winning streak, which is the longest in franchise history. It also ties for fifth longest winning streak in NBA history. The longest winning streak in NBA history is held by the Los Angeles Lakers, at 33 games!
The Hawks are definitely one of the most underrated teams in the league this season. With other powerhouses such as the Portland Trailblazers, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers, the Hawks are sometimes doubted. But Atlanta is looking to win their second championship!
