This weekend marks the beginning of the 2022 Atlanta United FC Season! This Sunday, the Five Stripes will host Sporting Kansas City at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Opening Match. Atlanta United 2022 Home Opener Timeline
While the match itself is very exciting, the pre-game activities can be just as fun. Attend a fun tailgate, watch the teams arrive, warmups, and of course, kickoff!
10:00 AM
-Parking lots open.
-The Home Depot Backyard opens.
-Tailgating commences.
1:00PM
-Gates open.
-The Box Office opens at Gate 1.
-Team Store open.
-Team Arrival and Fan Welcome (Gates 3 and 4).
2:30 PM
-Team warm-ups begin.
3:00 PM
-Golden Spike stadium arrival.
-Field procession of teams.
-National Anthem.
-Kickoff!
Important Minute Marks:
45 minutes: Halftime (15 minutes).
75 minutes: Alcohol sales end,
90 minutes: Match ends.
5 minutes post match: Golden Spike Ceremony.
Tips for Attending Atlanta United 2022 Home Opener
- Tickets are mobile only! Fans may load tickets on the Atlanta United app, save them inside a mobile wallet, or access via that Account Manager site. It is important to have mobile devices charged and ready when approaching the gate. Important note: screenshots are not accepted!
- It’s best to pre-purchase parking. Tailgating is a must for many fans. To ensure the best spot, purchase a pass ahead of time. Always check parking information to ensure the time your lot opens, and if the lot allows tailgating.
- MARTA is a great way to get to the stadium. The preferred station for arrival and departure is the GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station. This station will drop you off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s front door.
- Mercedes-Benz Stadium is cashless. For those patrons who need to utilize cash, Reverse ATMS are located around the stadium.
- The roof status is TBA. The team will announce soon whether or not the roof will be open, weather depending.
- The venue has a strict Clear Bag Policy. Mercedes-Benz Stadium only allows clear bags, or small clutch type purses. Be sure to check out the Clear Bag Policy:
“Fans will be able to carry the following bags:
-Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.
-Non-Clear bags no larger than 4.5 x 6.5.
-Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.”
