What to do in Atlanta this weekend?
Fall in is the air! The leaves are changing, the pumpkins are being carved, and the pumpkin spice latte craze is in full swing. With the beautiful weather here in Atlanta, there’s no reason to stay at home! Here is an Atlanta Weekend Guide for some of our favorite events this weekend:
Walker Stalker Con, Friday Oct. 17- Sunday Oct. 19
Who is excited about The Walking Dead season beginning? The show, which is largely filmed in Atlanta, is back and fans cannot be more ecstatic. While waiting impatiently for Sunday night’s episode, you can catch some of your favorite stars from The Walking Dead and other sci-fi shows at the Walker Stalker Con this weekend. The convention is located at The Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart Building 2.
Fall Festival on Ponce, Saturday Oct. 18-Sunday Oct. 19
The Fall Festival on Ponce is an arts and crafts festival set in Olmstead Park. Over 125 displays of fine arts and crafts, folk and “outsider art” will be on display. Additionally, there will be a children’s area and local food and beverage. The festival runs from 10am-6pm on Saturday and 11am-6pm on Sunday.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons, Saturday Oct. 18
The Atlanta Hawks will play the Detroit Pistons in a preseason game at 7:30pm at Philips Arena. The first regular season home game will be November 1st vs. the Indiana Pacers, with a special performance by Grammy Award winner and Atlanta native T.I..
Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park, Friday Oct. 17-Oct. 31
A family favorite for kids and adults, the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park features attractions, fun-filled games, shows and more! Don’t miss the Pie Eating Contest and the Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt! Festival goers can also enjoy all of Stone Mountain’s normal attractions during the event.
