While the world is on pause, many fans are missing live entertainment. There may be very limited live music or sports at the moment, but luckily some great entertainers have stepped up to fill the void, and doing it for a good cause! Partnering with the Atlanta Braves, the Avett Brothers will be performing a free virtual concert this week. Check out the details.
The Avett Brothers and The Atlanta Braves
The Avett Brothers have performed after Atlanta Braves games twice, once at Turner Field, and once at SunTrust Park. This Thursday, the band will change it up a bit. The Avett Brothers will perform a free virtual concert:
- Date: May 14, 2020
- Time: 10:00 pm Eastern
- Where: The Atlanta Braves Facebook page
The 45-minute set will broadcast live on Facebook. Before the show starts, baseball plans will be please to watch the replay of the 1999 NLCS Braves clinch.
While fans may not be able to see the band in person, it will be a nice reminder that live entertainment is still around! Additionally, the virtual concert is also raising money for COVID-19 relief. Fans can donate to the MusiCares COVID relief fund, which assists those in the music industry impacted by the global pandemic. Tune in at Facebook.com/Braves.

- Though they are from Concord, North Carolona, the Avett Brothers are long time Atlanta Braves fans.
- The band was featured in their own HBO documentary, “May it Last: A Portait of the Avett Brothers.”
- Along with several Americana Music Honors and Awards, the band has three Grammy Nominations to their name.
- The brothers come from a long line of musicians. Their grandmother was a concert pianist, and their father was a guitarist.
