There are just two days left until Opening Day at SunTrust Park! Braves fans are getting excited about the start of baseball season. Braves season begins this Thursday at 4:10 pm! The Atlanta Braves organization has a great celebration prepared for the start of the season. They’ve even declared Opening Day a holiday at SunTrust Park. Opening Day Festivities at the Battery Atlanta
The Braves will host an array of Opening Day festivities at the Battery Atlanta before the game.
- Coaches and players will participate in a pregame parade at noon. The parade goes down Battery Way and into the Chophouse before batting practice.
- Following the parade, check out the Leadoff show starting at 1:05 pm. The show features the Atlanta Braves Heavy Hitters, ATL Breakers, and the Tomahawk Team.
- A Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held on the Plaza Green. Additionally, participate in a pick-up stickball game!
- The celebration will include appearances by the Home Depot tools and Blooper the mascot.
- The season’s first Chop Rally begins at 3:20 pm in the Plaza!
Opening Day Festivities at the Coca-Cola Roxy
The Coca-Cola Roxy venue inside the Battery Atlanta is the official spot for the Opening Day tailgate!
- Hosted by 680 The Fan, the tailgate begins at noon and is free!
- Games such as cornhole will be available for enjoyment.
- Cocktails and a $15 buffet are available for purchase.
- Enjoy live music by Oh No Stereo, playing classic hits during the tailgate!
- There are even opportunities to win Braves memorabilia, Braves tickets, Roxy show tickets and VIP experiences.
Opening Day Festivities at SunTrust Park
Fan are encouraged to be in their seats 30 minutes prior to the 4:10 pm game time, as there are plenty of exciting events inside the park!
- Braves alumni Chipper Jones will throw out the first pitch.
- Clay Cook from the Zac Brown Band will sing the National Anthem.
- UGA’s Nick Chubb will officially begin the game with the “Play Ball” command.
- Also, Braves alumni will be showcased throughout the day!
