If you’re a product of the 80s and are “jonesing” for a sense of nostalgia, make sure you check out Duran Duran’s upcoming performance at the Phillips Arena next Friday!
Duran Duran Performs In Atlanta
Recognized as an influential component of the “second British invasion,” Duran Duran reached international fame after releasing their self-titled debut album back in 1981. With a slew of instant hits that include “Careless Memories” and “Girls on Film,” members John Taylor and Nick Rhodes would capitalize on their success by releasing 13 more albums over the next thirty years.
The band’s popularity is largely connected to the unique sounds they offer, combining focused pop melodies that are enhanced with synthesized rock instruments, creating a heavy groove that is just too easy to get swept away by.
Popular hits like “Rio,” “Notorious,” and “Hungry Like A Wolf” continue to be a part of our Pop culture, appearing on numerous movie and gaming soundtracks like Donnie Darko and Grand Theft Auto.

Tour Reviews
Duham, NC
Duran Duran was just terrific! They played a great variety of new and classic hits and kept the crowd dancing the whole time. Limited off stage time gave them more time to get as many songs in as possible. This was my second time seeing them at the DPAC and this show was better than before.
Favorite Moment: Closing with Rio
Durham, NC
These guys are just as good as they were back in the 80s and have been able to preserve their sound in a positive way. The show was great-played for almost three hours. The light effects and graphics were cool, but a bit bright. All in all well worth the trip to Durham
Favorite Moment: Planet Earth morphing into David Bowie
New York, NY
We went to the show the other night and it was absolutely amazing!!! My friends and I really enjoyed the show! The dance feeling was just like it was back in the day!
I have bought all their new stuff since Astronaut and have yet to be disappointed. They have not lost their voices, energy, etc. I only wished it would have lasted longer than it did. I was having so much fun. My husband went so I wouldn’t be going myself and he was glad he did! He pretty much remembered all the old songs, and really enjoyed the new ones. I do hope this is not the end of their touring days. I will go again should they come back to Durham/Raleigh.
Favorite Moment: The whole show. I can not pick just one moment.
They were fantastic!
