Fantasy Football, Week 12 is upon us! Don’t get too down if it doesn’t look like you’re not going to make the playoffs. Stranger things have happened. For example: The St. Louis Rams put a beating on the Denver Broncos, handing them a 22-7 loss. The Atlanta Falcons are at the top of their division, with only four wins under their belt. Keep your head up fantasy owners, and check out our busts, surprises and predictions for fantasy football, Week 12.
Busts
Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (QB)
Stafford was sacked four times on Sunday, and completed just 18-of-30 passes for 183 yards and an interception. The Lions ended up losing 14-6 to Arizona, and Stafford fantasy owners may have recorded a loss as well…. as Stafford finished with under ten fantasy points.
Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (WR)
It looks like Mike Evans is now the #1 receiver for the Buccaneers, leaving Vincent Jackson in the dust. Jackson had just three catches on targets for 43 yards, and no touchdowns. Mike Evans on the other hand two touchdowns and over 200 yards. Jackson finished with just over five fantasy points, and Mike Evans owners likely leaped with joy: he finished with over 40.
Surprises
Jonas Gray, New England Patriots (RB)
Jonas Gray recorded 37 carries for 201 yards in Week 11. He also made it into the endzone for four touchdowns! In many leagues, Gray was probably sitting in free agent status, but he’s likely been snapped up off the waiver wire by now. The Patriots did add Legarette Blount to their lineup this week, but it’s not likely he will take too many snaps away from Gray.
Kenny Britt, St. Louis Rams (WR)
Kenny Britt has had a very quiet season so far, but Week 11 was pay-dirt for anyone who took a chance on the wide receiver in their lineups. Britt had four catches on seven targets for 128 yards and a touchdown. The St. Louis Rams had a surprising 22-7 win over the Denver Broncos, and Kenny Britt had a definite role.
Predictions
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys, (QB)
Tony Romo is coming off a bye week, and he’s had sufficient time to rest up from his back injury. He returned to practice on Thursday, and things are looking up for the Dallas quarterback. Romo faces a less than stellar Giants defense in Week 12.
Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons, (WR)
Roddy White caught 8-of-12 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in the Atlanta Falcon’s win over Carolina in Week 11. He definitely seemed to be the more reliable receiver, as Jones had trouble hanging on to the ball. White has scored three touchdowns in the last four games, and it is predicted that cornerback Joe Haden will be all over Jones, giving White more room to get in the endzone yet again. The Atlanta Falcons kick off against the Cleveland Browns at 1pm this Sunday.
