Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1967. Due to numerous changes in band members, the only original members still playing in the band are Mick Fleetwood and John “Mac” McVie, the band’s namesakes. Fleetwood Mac has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time.
Current Members and the “On With the Show Tour”
The current Fleetwood Mac tour marks the first time in 16 years that the “classic five” lineup are performing together: Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie and Stevie Nicks. The current set-list includes two-dozen songs. Mostly from albums “Fleetwood Mac” and “Rumours” with a few others from “Tusk,” “Mirage,” and “Tango in the Night.” ”
Rumours was a number-one album in 1977. The record sold over one-million copies, and won a Grammy for Album of the Year. The album produced multiple top-ten hits such as: “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop,” and “You Make Loving Fun.”
“On With The Show,” the 33-city stadium tour is the live reunion of five rock stars. whose personal lives are documented throughout their songs and albums. Stevie Nicks has two ex-boyfriends in the band and Christine Mcvie and John Mcvie have been divorced for years. But somehow they may it work, and all the better for the audience. The drama that was splashed across the tabloids during the band’s run has made for some amazing music.
Homecoming for Christine McVie
For Christine McVie, it’s a homecoming. She has been away from the band for 16 years. This marks her first set of public performances since rejoining Fleetwood Mac this spring. She left the group in the 90’s due to a terrible fear of planes and flying. The consensus of her return is that the band feels “whole,” and Stevie Nicks doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight. Nicks claims that “two blondes are better than one.”
The group does plan on releasing an new album, their first since 2003, but not until 2015 when the current tour is over. They have already begun writing songs and have at least 7 finished, all co-written by John McVie.
Fleetwood Mac in Atlanta
The “On With the Show” tour began in Minneapolis in Septemeber. The tour will continue on to 33 cities in all, including Atlanta, Ga on December, 17 at Philips Arena. Tickets sold out quickly for the show on Ticketmaster. But there are still some great seats left on the secondary market. Including the Fleetwood Mac Atlanta concert and other concerts across the country.
Tickets sales were a major success through the box office. Additionally, secondary ticket prices for Fleetwood Mac’s Atlanta concert are some of the most-expensive in the country. Seats in Atlanta start at $120, which is more expensive than major markets such as California and even New York.
