Paul McCartney, one of the last remaining members of The Beatles, performs at Philips Arena, Wednesday, October 15th at 8pm. The concert, originally scheduled in June was rescheduled due to an illness that forced Sir Paul McCartney to reschedule several US tour dates.
Luckily for fans though, at 72-years of age, Paul McCartney isn’t letting anything stop him. Concerts on McCartney’s tour, “Out There” have been averaging 3 hours and 36 songs per night.
50 Years Worth of Music from Paul McCartney
Among the favorite song performed by McCartney is “Eight Days a Week,” recorded by the Beatles in 1964. Other old favorites from the Beatles repertoire are “Eleanor Rigby,” “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” “Back in the USSR,””Yesterday,” and “Hey Jude.” McCartney also mixes in songs from his new album released in 2013, aptly titled “New.”
Concert goers muse that Paul McCartney plays as if he is still in his 20’s, never disappointing his fans. Tributes to John Lennon and George Harrison, and stories about Jimi Hendrix add a twist that makes for a fantastic show. McCartney even plays a guitar he used in the Beatles’ recording of “Paperback Writer,” released no less than 40 years ago.
Those lucky enough to attend the show will experience 50-years worth of music, and a once in a lifetime experience.
