Philips Arena is Atlanta’s premiere multipurpose venue. The arena is home of the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Dream, and host to many amazing concerts and events every year. Philips Arena, the world’s first LEED certified NBA arena, stacks up against the best venues in the country.
Parking and Transportation at Philips Arena
There is plenty of parking available nearby Philips Arena. There are some sponsored, and un-sponsored lots around the venue. If you want to drive to the venue, it’s recommended that you purchase parking ahead of time. Several of the closest parking lots sell out and a good spot will cost you about $25 for a popular event.
I always encourage my clients to arrive early and beat the Atlanta traffic. Similarly, leaving Philips Arena after an event can be a nightmare! It is difficult to get out of parking lots. After an event I like to go hang out in at Centennial Olympic Park or grab a drink nearby Philips Arena to let the traffic die down.
If you don’t want to deal with the headache of traffic and parking, take Atlanta’s public transportation, MARTA. There’s a MARTA location right outside of Philips Arena, and its a breeze to get on and off the train.
Seating at Philips Arena
Philips Arena is one of those places that has great seats available across the venue. Baseline, center court, and even the 200 and 300 level seats can all be fantastic. While some seats are better than others, it depends on how much you want to spend to guarantee a great view. Concessions
Philips Arena has one of the best concessions selections I’ve ever seen. The club has an amazing variety of high-end mini restaurants to choose from, such as:
- Buckhead Diner, Too
- Pricci di Fibi
- Nava South
- Chops Clubside
If you don’t have club access, no worries! There are still plenty of dining options to choose from, such as RED, Philips Arena’s sit-down dining restaurant. There are also great places to grab a bite at the Hawk Walk, as well as many general concessions outside each portal.
Staff
The staff working inside Philips Arena have always been very professional and helpful. Employes at the entrances get fans in as quickly and as orderly as possibly. The ushers are very professional and knowledgeable. And while I did have to wait in a long line for my beer and pizza at halftime, all the concessions employees were super friendly!
Philips Arena Extras
There are many things to do and see other than the event. The arena is connected to the CNN Center, and a Taco Mac. There is also Hawk Walk, Philips Arena’s indoor street with restaurants and retail stores, and The Philips Experience, a 10,000 square foot showcase including five hands-on activities. Philip’s Experience even includes “Ready, Set, Shoot” which gives visitors an opportunity to test their dunk skills on a miniature basketball court, with a live stream throughout the exhibit.
All in all, Philips Arena is an amazing venue to attend a Hawks game, a concert, or whatever event happens to be occurring!
