Atlanta’s Sports and Events Scene
This week, we had the opportunity and pleasure of speaking with the producer of the “Y Radio” program at the YMCA Metro North location.
Y Radio provides inspirational stories and great music to members of the YMCA and is an extension of a Cause Marketing system that sees for-profit businesses collaborate with and support non-profit organizations.

What do you think is the best thing going on right now with Atlanta’s sports scene?
Even though we really do not need the new venues for the Falcons and the Braves, I think the new unveiling of these new facilities will dominate the sports scene for the next year or so.
Now if the Hawks, the Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Falcons maintain a competitive edge to keep it exciting, that will even be better.
As a life long Georgian, I know the Atlanta fans can be a tough crowd to please. Georgia Tech could add if they will stay consistent.

After a less-than-stellar season, what do you think about the Braves new stadium? Do you think the new location will attract more fans?
I am excited about the new stadium, it is certainly much closer to North Fulton, where I live.
Traffic concerns, of course, are the biggest questions. That will be addressed as we really see what happens.
As for the Braves, I am not opposed to another worst to first.
I think the new location will definitely bring in the crowds, just to see what the new attractions will be like.

Did you attend any games this summer? If so, who did you see play?
We normally go to a couple of Braves games every year, catch a Falcons game, and 4 to 5 Hawks games.
-
What do you think about the upcoming NFL season?
I always get excited about football, I am a big Falcons fan.
-
How do you think the Atlanta Falcons will perform?
I think they will continue to improve. I really like Dan Quinn.
We have a great quarterback, great running backs, and a HOF wide receiver!

What are your thoughts on the new Mercedes Benz stadium? How do you think it will affect Atlanta’s economy? Do you think it will attract the World Cup to Atlanta?
I think it is fantastic really.
The Dome is great, but I do understand that economically it make a tremendous amount of sense for the Falcons as a business.
I think Mr. Blank has done a great job and will continue to enhance the fan experience.
With this caliber of a venue, we should have the ability to attract most any event.
I think it will be great for Atlanta.
