For those who are fans of Atlanta’s underground hip-hop and rap scene, make sure you check out Skizzy Mars live at the Masquerade this Saturday!
Skizzy Mars Performs In Atlanta
Followers of Mars have witnessed him grow as a performer and artist for the past few years, offering projects that continue to improve in their focus and maturity.
From his debut mixtape Phases to his most recent studio album Alone Together, Mars has gone from performing at open mic nights in Harlem, New York to securing the fourth spot on the U.S. Billboard Rap Albums chart.
Those who have watched Mars grow in popularity since launching in 2013 understand why he is able to continuously attract new audiences and fans from each city he performs in.
Quite simply, Mars is indie rap at its best.
His style is packed with slow, synth references and sounds that connect listeners to New York’s hip hop culture and conjure up feelings of control, freedom, and power.
When performing live in front of audiences, most attendees are surprised at how well Mars is able to maintain the sweet, smooth sounds found on his album in-tact, despite the acoustics of whatever concert hall or venue is featuring him.
His stage presence is described by fans and critics across the country as simply, “amazing,” offering a tremendous amount of himself through his lyrics, personality, and the type of energy he exudes.
The continuous exchange of dialogue between Mars and his audiences, combined with the level of participation he is able to solicit are what keeps his shows feeling more alive, spontaneous, and personal than other performances by more mainstream artists.
Tickets are still on sale for Saturday’s show, which is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. They start at only $28 each and can be purchased online or over the phone by calling 404.633.2726.

Tour Reviews
Columbus, OH
Skizzy was awesome tonight, much better than other shows I’ve recently seen in the area. The place he preformed at went from 300 people last year to a 1,500 person sold out show this year, which just goes to show you how much the kid has stepped up his game! Keep doing great things Skizzy, we love you here!

Skizzy does not shy away from who is really is in his lyrics, which makes him even more respectable as an artist. One real awesome guy and the crowd were singing along with each of his songs throughout the entire show!
The whole show was nothing but good times and the opening act was pretty solid, as well.
Favorite Moment: Hearing one of his original songs, which is also one of my favorites, live for the first time.
