With the weather warming up, Atlanta is bustling with activity! From festivals to live music, Major League Baseball to NBA playoffs, there are tons of events to choose from. This week is no different. Check out some of our favorite Atlanta events this week!
Atlanta Hawks Vs. Washington Wizards
May 5, 8:00 pm- Philips Arena
The Atlanta Hawks have made it to the second round of the NBA playoffs! With four games won against the Brooklyn Nets, the Hawks advanced to the semi-finals. They will now face the Washington Wizards in the race to the championship.
May 5th marks the second home game in the series for the Atlanta Hawks. Unfortunately, the Hawks were defeated by the Wizards in Game 1, 104-98. Hopefully the team can pull a win out this time. Don’t miss the Hawks vs. the Wizards, tip-off is 8:00 pm on Tuesday night.
Atlanta Braves Vs. Philadelphia Phillies
May 4-6, 7:10 pm- Turner Field
Beginning Monday, the Braves begin a three game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves always have great promotional and appreciation nights, and the game on May 6th is a prime example.
2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. May 6th is Military Appreciation Night at Turner Field, where the Braves and fans will recognize and appreciate those who fought in the Vietnam War. After this home stand, the Braves will be on the road until May 19th, when they return to Turner Field to play the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers. (Tip: May 20th is Javy Lopez Bobblehead Day!)
Zac Brown Band
May 8-9, 7:00 pm- Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
There are a lot of exciting spring concerts in Atlanta this year, and Zac Brown Band is one of them! “Chicken Fried” and “Toes in the Water” are anthems for great weather and good times! Luckily for fans, the Zac Brown Band will be singing these hits along with many others at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre this weekend! There are two shows, which means two opportunities to see this country music band live. They put on a great show, and this outdoor venue is sure to make for a great time!
