We are just about two weeks away from the 2016 NFL regular season and there’s still a lot to be done before the Atlanta Falcons open up the year against the Buccaneers.
The Falcons have their work cut out of them as they need to:
- Finalize their permanent roster.
- Get their offense back to a place where Quarterback Matt Ryan can effectively manage the pace of their game.
- Prepare their defense to withstand one of the toughest schedules in the entire NFL.
- Develop a solid plan of action that allows their Special Teams lineup to provide value on both sides of the ball.
Head coach Dan Quinn will have one last opportunity to fulfill a number of gaps before the regular season kicks off on September 11, as the Falcons take on The Jacksonville Jaguars this Thursday night.

Despite the fact that fans will not see most of the starting lineup play too many minutes this Thursday, they will have the opportunity to see how well their reserves fare against a team that continues to struggle on both sides of the ball.
With 22 cuts left to go before the permanent roster is set, the Falcons will determine whether athletes like Brandon Wilds and Brian Poole have what it take to bring the team to the playoffs.

Despite Sean Renfree putting up solid stats this preseason, you can expect Matt Ryan to return to the helm for the 2016 season.
Erik Weems continues to outshine fellow wide receivers Devin Fuller and J.D. McKissic.
Expect to see a lot of Weems this season as he provides support to Julio Jones and provides Ryan with another viable option to throw to.
It will be interesting to see what Corey Washington can do as the team’s newest Corner Back. Although he may switch back to the Wide Receiver position, it will be fun to watch what the sprinter can do against the Jag’s offense.
